Construction Details: Hand-Hooked

This collection of area rugs stay casual with the help of hand-hooked construction. While most area rugs have a sheared, smooth appearance, hand-hooked rugs leave yarn loops intact, giving them a unique look and texture. Hand-hooked rugs are crafted by artisan weavers using a meticulous construction method.

How It's Made: Hand-Hooked

Hand-hooked rugs are built on a foundation cloth. A hooked tool is pushed through the cloth, grabs a strand of yarn on the other side, and pulls it through, creating a loop. The yarn is then knotted on the backside and the process is repeated until completion. The rug is finished with a protective backing adhered to the underside, adding extra security and durability.
